Make Your Own Ringtone

The following article was written as an assignment for the Cyberspace and Society class.

Here is my second digital storytelling assignment for ds106. This time I picked up the one in the audio category and made an annoying ringtone that forces you to answer the phone. It took me for a while to make it, but it was fun editing the sounds. I hope the listener also enjoy listening to it.

  1. It's just WEIRD ... in a good way, of course!
You might be able to make money by providing it for mobilephones! :D

  4. OMG (Oh my Goodness) - What's a matter homey, you don't want to answer your phone wins the award forever.

This is incredible Shinichiro. Are you telling us that you've not done any sound editing before? I can't believe.

Audacity, FreeSound.org and SoundCloud are all excellent free resources for working with audio. I'm delighted you used them all to such excellent effect.

I don't know anything about getting ringtones on a phone. I would certainly use this if I could. Does anybody know how to get an mp3 to work as ringtone on a cell phone?

    Hey, THAT'S SO annoying!! LOL

    Shinichiro>>
I really love how the sound could be annoying like this, coz ring-tone has to be something annoying in a way ... this kinda thing has to reinforce people to stop itself, you know. ;)

AND congrats for your post being introduced by J.Groom! ;)
